Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Oryx Fitness, a coaching-first running app. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Oryx Fitness and at least 18 years old to subscribe. If you are between 13 and 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.

Your account

•  You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

•  You must provide accurate information during registration and keep it up to date.

•  You may not share your account, transfer it, or use it on behalf of another person without our written permission.

Subscriptions and billing

•  Oryx Fitness offers a free tier and paid premium tiers. Premium is sold through the Apple App Store as an auto-renewing subscription.

•  Pricing, billing dates, taxes, and renewal terms are shown in the App Store before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.

•  Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings; we cannot cancel them for you.

•  Refunds are handled by Apple under their refund policy. We are notified of refunds via App Store Server Notifications and adjust your access accordingly.

•  Free trials, intro offers, and promotional codes are subject to the terms shown in-app at the time you redeem them.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

•  use Oryx Fitness for any unlawful purpose;

•  attempt to circumvent paywalls, rate limits, or other technical restrictions;

•  reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the security of the app or our servers;

•  submit content that is harassing, defamatory, or that infringes another person's rights;

•  impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, including your role as a coach.

Coaching content and health disclaimer

Oryx Fitness is not a medical service. Plans, articles, AI coaching, and notifications are educational and informational. They are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Consult a qualified professional before starting any exercise program, especially if you have a medical condition or take medication. Stop running if you experience pain, dizziness, chest tightness, or any other symptom that concerns you.

Coaches available on the platform are independent contractors providing coaching guidance. We do not employ them and we are not responsible for their advice. We screen coaches but you are responsible for your own decisions about your training.

User content

You retain ownership of run data, photos, and messages you create. You grant us a limited licence to host, display, and process this content for the purpose of operating the service.

You can export or delete your content from Settings. Deletion is permanent and may take up to 30 days to complete across our backups.

Intellectual property

Oryx Fitness, the Oryx Fitness name, logo, and the in-app content not generated by users (training plan templates, articles, exercise library) are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without our written permission.

Termination

You may stop using Oryx Fitness and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that attempt to harm other users, or that pose a security risk. If we do so, we will tell you the reason where lawful and reasonable.

Disclaimers

Oryx Fitness is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, and we disclaim implied warranties to the extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Oryx Fitness is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (such as for fraud or for personal injury caused by our negligence).

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the changes. If you disagree, stop using Oryx Fitness and cancel any active subscription before the change takes effect.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of the Emirate of Dubai, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under your local law.
